The Gun Bus
The Gun Bus has proved itself to be
a valuable asset to many country estates. The carrying capacity and accessibility
has turned what was once a ‘military maneuver’ in itself to get people and
vehicles around on shoot days into a straight forward and practical procedure.
Following many years as
the Scottish agent W Bone acquired the Gun Bus Co. in 2003 and moved the
operation from Hertfordshire to Dumfries and Galloway.
Following this
acquisition the company has continued to expand and supply customers from all
over the UK and Europe with vehicles ranging
from standard base vehicles to specialist vehicles built to customer’s
requirements.
Gun Buses come in various forms from
converted Landrover Ambulances to light 4x4 trucks. In recent years Sumbs and
Savieme TP3’s have proven extremely popular and reliable base vehicles but both
now are difficult to source.
More recently we have moved on to
Renault TRM 2000’s which have taken over from previous models and are modern
vehicles with diesel engines, power steering, hard cabs, heaters and are
proving very popular.
